American Bonsai society

American Bonsai Society is conducting annual awards in Honour of John Y .Naka.

Rules and regulations,

These awards will be given to North American bonsai artists and hobbyists who exhibit the spirit of artistic design taught by Master Naka using North American native material or material grown entirely in North America as exhibited by one of his or her bonsai.

 All photographic entries must be submitted through the ABS website entry form or an E-mail submitted tonaka@absbonsai.org by August 1, 2014.

Joshua Roth Compitition

The Joshua Roth New Talent Bonsai Competition is an annual competition to recognize and promote new bonsai talent in North America.

First Stage Submissions must be received before September 1, 2014. Entries from artists whose photographs indicate the most promise will be selected to participate in the second stage of the competition. Contestants selected for Stage Two will be notified by September 30, 2014.

The second stage will be the actual production of a bonsai during the GSBF/ABS Convention, Oct. 30, 2014 at the Double Tree Hotel Sacramento CA..  Joshua Roth and the American Bonsai Society are sponsoring this contest.

Scholarship competition

Scholarship is open to all BSF members over 18 years of age and who are registered for the 2014 Convention, Anyone wishing to compete in this event must pre register by sending an email to me a tsecondvp@bonsai-bsf.com.  Please include name, address, club affiliation, and a short synopsis of your bonsai experience. The deadline for all submissions will be March 21, 2014.

Youth Exibit and styling competition

Youth Exhibit and Styling Competition is open to young people who are between the ages of 10 and 18 who are accompanied by an adult who is registered for the 2014 Convention.  Participants will receive free Convention registration.  Any young people wishing to compete in this event must pre register by sending an email to me atsecondvp@bonsai-bsf.com.  Please include name, birthdate, address, club affiliation, and a short synopsis of your bonsai experience .   

 The deadline for all submissions will be March 21, 2014.  

National Arco Italy

The 29th ARCOBONSAI CONVENTION “ Giappone ad ARCO” Will be held in Arco (Trentino) Italy 
Tree and suiseki exhibitions – Demonstrations at the same time of twenty Italian teachers and twenty clubs for the 13th Arco bonsai contest.
